Pearl's Delight

I was cleaning and piled four or five dogs beds and blankets in a heap.  Pearl is always quick to find the most comfortable place to take a nap. Boots and all for pillows!

As you probably guess, Ziggy is visiting with her housemate - Jerry-.  I am struck at how much Ziggy has grown to look like her mother - Willow, who looks a bit tired int he above photo.

Zoe, Willow Sunshine, Cleo

Cleo's Lament

It has been fun week with Miss Cleopatra – She is so full of bounce and likes to express herself.  Here is short video of her voicing her opinion at being sequestered in the stairwell with her mother, Pearl, and sister, Willow Sunshine.  I was getting their dinner ready and didn’t want to mix Pearl and Nash – as you can hear is yearning for Pearl.  Nash has actually calmed quite  bit since Pearl is near the end of her heat.

Nash and Pearl breeding update

No photos of the day - sorry - another private party :)

So!  We never did make it to the vet on Friday for that second AI - too much snow!  I did put Nash and Pearl together on Thursday and Friday.  There was not real tie, so who knows what will happen.  At least we have that first AI - it's all in the time and fetitlity.   Pearl, being the free spirit she is, had to be outdoors and in the woods.  So, on lead she took Nash and I out into the woods, while snow gently fell down from the sky to sprinkle out bodies with white crystals.    We will see....

2013 SNOW DAAAAYYY

Fantastic snow storm - it is up to my waist.  The dogs love it and so do I.  I let Pearl out this morning and she leap out the door to disappear into the white fluff.  She instantly turned around and came back in, bringing the snow drift with her.  The dogs leap and bound like sea creatures through the snow.  they disappear and surface for air, then disappear again.  Needless to say our walk was only a few yards, it was most exhausting!  Photos to come....

Spring 2013 - Now we wait - Nash and Pearl Mating

This morning Nash and Pearl had their appointment for Artificial Insemination at the Vet.  It went very well, with Nash providing more than his share, the vet was quite impressed for a 12 year old dog.  The note required by AKC wanting to know the sperm count stated, by the vet,  200,000 sperm from one teeny drop on the slide - all happy and mobile!

We have an appointment to return on Friday -12:00 PM- February 8th, unless the two love birds decide to take things into their own.  Pearl is different this time around, dancing and sashaying in front of Nash.

Now we wait and see what happens. If all goes as planned, in 63 days from now we will have puppies.

Sorry no photos - it was a private party :)
